Has the waiting list for Ingraham moved at all? Over 40 HCC incoming 9th graders want to attend Ingraham but are stuck on the list.

Any news?

Unless there is some board action, I don't believe the waitlist is going to move at Ingraham. I'd encourage you to write letters if you're concerned about this.

For what it's worth, SBAC scores are up on the Source. Schedules are still not available, however.

New schools are setting up from scratch at Cascadia and Decatur and they could use parent help. Do you have an hour or two to unpack boxes and shift furniture around? Or drop by with a latte? The teachers are working hard and could use a boost.

How fast do portables get installed/built? My kid has a class in a portable @ GHS but there are no portables...

FYI On Save Seattle Schools Blog Ingraham and Garfield parents commenting that the schools are assigning subpar schedules. They do not have adequate classes for HCC pathway students. Likely due to overcrowding? They are commenting that many will be attending Running Start, due to lack of college ready class. From the Friday open thread:

" I think Ingraham isn't the only school that will be sending a lot of kids to running start. My senior got their schedule from Garfield. The only academic classes are the mandatory graduation requirements of LA and SS, everything else is electives, TA slots, and arts classes. No math, no science, no academic electives ... nothing that is college ready."

Turns out the portables are there, they are just not ready. Classes scheduled for portables are being taught in library and elsewhere.
